About Fundamental
Independent, fee-transparent yield analytics for Solana DeFi. A tool for Solana, by Solana, built by the Elemental team and free to use.
Mission
Fundamental addresses a gap in DeFi: depositors are often shown one return and earn another. The difference is usually fees, but it can also be utilisation, slippage, idle balances during withdraw windows, or discrepancies between front-end displays and on-chain state.
Transparency makes for healthier markets. When protocols compete on the yield depositors actually receive, users get better outcomes and comparisons stay honest.
What we do
- Continuous tracking. Daily snapshots of every supported protocol, normalised to a single APY convention.
- Fee transparency. Each fee structure is modelled and applied, so the headline number is net of fees by default.
- Historical context. Yield is a series, not a point, with moving averages and side-by-side comparison.
- Governance risk. An on-chain read of who controls each protocol, paired with its yield.
Why Solana
Fundamental is a tool for Solana, by Solana. The ecosystem has its own pace, liquidity profile, and protocol-specific quirks that are easy to miss from the outside. By tracking only Solana we can read each protocol's on-chain accounting directly rather than approximating it, pick up new venues quickly without diluting the dataset, keep direct relationships with the teams whose protocols we track, and provide context (sunsets, integrations, audits) relevant to the chain.
Operating principles
- Accuracy
- Numbers are cross-verified against multiple sources before publication.
- Transparency
- Methodology is documented in full and revised in the open.
- Independence
- No sponsored content, no paid placements, no biased rankings.
- Public good
- The platform is free to use. Costs are covered by donations and the optional paid API tier.
Get involved
We're always looking to add protocols that meet the bar for meaningful, transparent yield. If you operate one, or you'd like to see one tracked, start a tracking request.
